ERQUA MUSIC was founded by Esther Dong and Violet Qiu. Both grew up playing Chinese traditional instruments and later pursued jazz composition in the United States. As composers and performers, they fuse their Eastern musical heritage with modern Western genres, creating a sound that is rooted in tradition yet open to new possibilities.

What began as a personal artistic experiment soon evolved into a collective of professional performers, composers, and educators who share the same passion for cultural fusion and innovation.

Each member of ERQUA brings a unique voice shaped by classical training, cross-genre collaboration, and global experience. Together, they form more than an ensemble — they are cultural ambassadors, collaborators, and storytellers through sound, creating music that is both deeply traditional and vividly contemporary.
